While you may
be familiar with the basic "4C's" (color, clarity, carat and cut)
for valuing and evaluating a diamond, we will present them here
with detailed, additional content because they are important and
form the basis for the way diamonds are graded. Of all the 4C's,
CUT is by far the most important. Nevertheless all are factors in
determining the price and beauty of a diamond. Remember that diamond
grading is performed by people, and even though they are highly
trained and very consistent, there will always be some subjectivity
involved where decisions on close calls have to be made.
